When You See No Rhyme or Reason...

Is it reasonable to sing a rhyme?

Mary had a little lamb...

I'm spotting.

Little lamb...

I know that many women spot, but...

Little lamb...

I'm not really like many women when it comes to this being pregnant gig.

Mary had a little lamb...

It's Sunday, so there's not much I can do.

It's fleece was white as snow.

But wait 'til tomorrow. And hope it doesn't get worse.

And everywhere that Mary went, Mary went, Mary went.
And everywhere that Mary went, the lamb was sure to go...

La la la la la la la...

In other news...

I pulled my fingers out of my ears and stopped furiously belting out Old Mother Goose tunes long enough to find my husband growling at our new spice rack. Hmmm...

I see nothing menacing about this do you? Eager to understand the fucked up, crazy, erm, I mean, delicate intricacies of my significant other's inner workings, I asked him what he found so threatening about our new spice rack that would cause him to puff-up all WWF-style and growl at it.

Z-Boy: GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...GRRRR..GRRRRRRRRRR...

Z-Girl: Honey?

Z-Boy: GRRRRRRRRRRRR...What?

Z-Girl: Why on earth are you growling at the spice rack?

Z-Boy: It's the turtle.

Z-Girl: The turtle?

Z-Boy: Yes.

Z-Girl: But honey, you made that turtle when you were little. Your Mom gave it to me when we were visiting. I thought it was cute. Why don't you like it?

Z-Boy: It doesn't like ME. Look at it! It's gotta mean face.

Z-Girl: I think it's a cute face.

Z-Boy: Yeah, right. Every time I walk past I can feel it giving me the old stink eye.

Z-Girl: Whatever. I think it's totally cute and it's staying there.

Z-Boy: Fine. That's just because you hate me, too.

Z-Girl: Yup. Hey, how old were you when you made it anyway?

Z-Boy: Eh, I don't know. Eighteen or something.

Z-Girl: Nice job. Your Mom seemed really proud. Heh.

I don't think it looks so mean. But if it's getting up in Zube Boy's face, I will surely consider it an ally.

BED REST - no really. In bed, lay on your left side and veg. I have bled a few times with this pregnancy and with Mira. hard as it is, relax a little.

I spotted with my son when I was about 2-3 months. I second fidget's advice. I laid down and didn't move expect to head to the bathroom. Take it easy, honey!

Fidget and hotdrwife- SO glad to know you both bled a little and had healthy babies. That is JUST what I needed to hear. I'm afraid to say that I don't have cramps and that it was a few teeny spotty spots since this AM because the little gnomes I'm convinced hang around me just waiting for me to feel the least bit confident will throw me for another loop with one of their spells. So I won't say it. Anyway, laying down watching Zube Boy's standoff with the turtle. Laundry be damned.

Hotdrwife- Hee. Thanks for making me laugh!

ZG, I have a girlfriend who is due anytime and she bled off and on for about 2 weeks during the end of the 2nd month. Don't get discouraged! We are all pulling for you and little Odd!

Its good to hear that its just teeny tiny and thats not rare among successful pregnancies. Still, call your doc in the morning, and your fears may be allayed even more. Whatever it is, doc needs to know.

Happy thoughts!

Zube,
You are so full of grace, it brings tears to my eyes. Whether you are happy or upset or angry, you approach each situation with such maturity and...grace.

Actually, to me, the turtle kinda has this look on his face like maybe ZubeBoy stuck a finger somewhere it shouldn't have been stuck while he was making it. Of course, that would probably explain why it's mad at ZubeBoy, too.

I've known a few women who have bled THROUGHOUT their pregnancies. And I knew someone who didn't know she was pregnant at all until her fifth month when the baby started moving because she had normal periods. All have healthy kids. Or, you know, they were born healthy and their parents have screwed them up by naming them really awful names from their Dungeons & Dragons games. Or tormenting them with turtle statues. But, hey, you can only be normal in this world if you're a little screwed up, right?

:) Hang in there, kiddo. And rest assured that you now harness TURTLE POWER against your hubby.

It also could be because you threw up. Throwing up puts a LOT of pressure on everything. My cousin just went through the same thing, and she and the baby are doing just fine.

Turtle-Power-wise, if you want to freak ZubeBoy out a little, you could make the same face at him. Don't say anything, just keep slowwwwwly advancing towards him with The Face. Or maybe you could throw in a slight growl. :)

I also spotted a little at about 10 weeks with my first pregnancy, and all was fine, Dr. said maybe it was the bladder infection I had. As for the throwing up, I didn't have morning sickness until the 9th or 10th week, so don't worry if you haven't "yakked", you have a lot ot look forward to.

I want to know what in the hell Zube Boy was up to when he was 18 that would have caused him to produce pottery. That's what's baffling me right now, honestly. :)

I can't wait to hear how your ultrasound went - I will be refershing like crazy now and sending more vibes then usual, stay in bed all you can OK?

Oh, y'know, you should probably move the turtle around a little bit, just to have fun with ZubeBoy. You know . . . transfer it to his nightstand in the middle of the night so he wakes up to it. Or put it on the soap tray in the shower. Or set it in his underwear drawer. Oh! Or hide it in his box of Cookie Crisp so it "leaps" out into his bowl in the morning. God, I could have so much fun with that lol

I think it looks more startled than mean, athough that may have been because I was looking at it.

At least the spices aren't in alphabetical order (I enlarged the picture and looked).

That's a cute turtle. I bet he was embarrassed when his mom gave it to you.
