Zube Boy and I are Godparents. WHEE!
I just ADORE little Alexandria, and not only 'cause she's all cute and baby-like, but because Miss I and The Englishman are like family to us. I couldn't be more honored that they want us to be Alex's special Aunt and Uncle.
Here's a question to all y'all. We're not exactly the religous sort, in fact I'm fairly certain that Miss I and The Englishman are agnostic, if not atheist, and I know that Zube Boy is an atheist. I'm an agnostic, and I generally avoid the word God, though sometimes I replace it with Goddess. All of this makes the moniker 'Godparents' seem silly. Any ideas for other titles? Not that we need one, but it'd be kind of nice. I mean, The Godfatha is pretty cool just, well, BECAUSE! But we're looking for something else that fits better. I mean, Godmutha never had a damn movie written about it, eh? Anyway, suggestions?
Oh yeah, gratuitous photos...
Happy Easter you crazy motherfuckers!!!
Love ya,
Zube

Goshparents? Non-deity-parents? Heathenparents? Godlessparents?
Zubeparents?
That's funny because my best friend was totally freaking out when she made someone else the godmother of her son, thinking I'd be upset. They chose the other person because she's Catholic and I'm and atheist and they didn't see any sense in an atheist godmother, even though they haven't been to church a day since the christening. While I wasn't at all upset, I think they knew, deep down, how ridiculous it all was.
Good for you guys for overlooking that little detail!
Congratulations! I like sparepair as in spare parents. An extra set so to speak! Kinda just rolls off the tongue!
oooh, i like the "zubeparents" one! my godchildren see me as the one who lets them do stuff their parents won't- within limits of course- like eating junkfood and playing ps2 ALL weekend!
ok I have to join the pack and say "Zubeparents", because it really is THE best and most obvious answer.
That is a sweet baby and you and zube boy look like the best zubeparents ever!
Sponsors.
But Zubeparents sounds good too.
I didn't like the whole "godfather" thing either...too Mario Puzo...too "Make you an offer you can't refuse."
Congratulations.
Well, Tacy has a fairy Godfather. I think it's just semantics, really.
And congrats!
How about just Auntie and Uncle Zube???
I looked up "godparent" in my thesarus, and it offered quite a few alternatives with no religious affiliation for you to use: adherent, advocate, backer, benefactor, guarantor, mainstay, patron, promoter, supporter, surety, sustainer, underwriter.
Some of those are rather rediculous, obviously. But some might be acceptable. Of course, personally, I think the one you guys should go with is "grubstaker", because what would be more fun than being introduced as Alexandria's grubstakers? hehehe

All I have to say is the what looks to be a wiskey bottle with a ine glass next to the baby bottle shows that you all have the situation under control :) but I vote for Zubeparents also
sorry winr not ine
ohh I give up now
So, what did you decide to go with?
Baby Stealer...
Okay, I really, really like Goshparents. Hee. I think that's a winner!
This is such an adorable picture... sure hope you frame it!!! :o)
Doesn't matter what the official title is as long as she has a special name for you. I think Auntie is really sweet myself.
What a very lucky little girl to have people care so much for her!
Personally? I think that if someone invites you to be a Godparent, and you accept, then you're a Godparent. Quite the honor, you know.

Rich - I do want to elaborate. We're not trying to change the 'title' that our friends gave us. All of us were talking about how it's a kind of silly title because none of us are the religous sort.
Aha.
In THAT case, I retract everything I've ever said to anyone, regardless of content or intent.
Also, I think that, given the new info, you should change from "Godparents" to "Mr. and Mrs. Whipple."
Congratulations!!!!
